Insert your choice EXPLETIVE here

Ugh. I just got my internet back. I was without it for a week. How crappy is that? I guess they got offended when I sent in my payment. It was working fine until they took my money. But seriously, it was a bad splitter or some such outside contraption.

Wouldn't have been so bad, but this should have been fixed Tuesday. I called the cable people Monday evening, they set up an appointment for the next day. So I shifted things around to make sure I would be here waiting. No one showed up. About 30 minutes before the "time window" expired, I called them. I was told they showed to be still on their way. Then an hour after the appointment time was up, I called again. This person told me there was no info in the computer about it at all. Ok obviously staying on the phone for 20 minutes was all in my imagination.

So they made a new appointment. And now everything works just fine. Took all of about 10 minutes. Ugh. It's amazing how much you miss it once it's gone. Especially since I haven't had it back that long.

But enough of that. Have I missed anything important? Probably. But I did finish another cloth. It's a triquetra. I just love this design. Of course, anything celtic-knot-like is good.

I did start another one too, but I will wait till it's finished to show it.

I also fell in love with another project. The Holiday 2006 of Vogue Knitting. The braided scarf on the cover. Yummy. I started one in purple. Heehee. Why not? It's really interesting how it's put together. And there is also a funky coat in there I like the construction of. Check it out if you haven't yet.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

Halloween!! Didn't think that's what I was saying did you? Well I just finished my October mid-month KAL. I am a couple days behind cause I was a little sickly.

Isn't it cute? And here is the illusion shot.

Now I will probably have to go out and get some candy corn.

Just call me butta...

Cause I'm on a roll.

This is a butterfly cloth. I sat down to start it and remembered a movie was coming on I wanted to watch. The Butterfly Effect. Spooky huh?

This one goes to a girl that works with my hubby. She saw his Alien one and really liked it. All the others I am making are going to hubby himself. He saw the first one I made, and snatched it from me. Then he told me how he loved the ones he remembered having at his Mammaw's. So it makes him happy, and I get to knit bunches.

What could be better?

A mystery dishcloth

The mid-month KAL started yesterday. I ran out to get the cotton I needed and got some clover bamboo needles to use. The cotton was on sale and I used the 40% off coupon on the needles. It was a good shopping trip.

The reason I wanted to try the bamboo is that I was knitting these dishcloths on metal dpns. And after a few minutes, the cotton would start sticking to the needles and wouldn't slide easily. I do have one other set of bamboo needles. They are a size 1 dpns. I started a pair of socks on them a few months back. I liked the feel, but was always afraid I would snap them in two. So I never really got to enjoy the feel of them.

But I knitted the day 1 rows last night, and it was so nice. And I just finished up today's rows. Now I can't wait to get tomorrows so I can knit with them some more.

Here's the first two days worth of "clues".

And here is the flip side of that Alien cloth. I didn't really know which should be the right side. They are both cute.

I think I am back in the swing of this knitting thing. It's great!

Alien Invasion

Well not really. I just made another dishcloth. It's out of this world.

Ok, enough of that. They started the mid-month KAL today. Got my first 10 rows, so now it's off to A.C.Moore to get some cotton.

Could this be considered an addiction?

Edit: This is the link for this pattern.

Knitting in the new place

There has actually been knitting around here. Just a small amount, but it counts.

I stumbled across another KAL. I know, they just suck you right in. This one is the Monthly Dishcloths (Knit-A-Long). They have 2 per month. It's like mystery knitting. They give you a few lines a day until the whole thing is finished. And then you get to see what it is. A little mini-mystery. I didn't join in time to be in the first one for this month, but I made one from the links that were there.

It's called Yvonne's Double Flower Cloth. I did half one night, and finished it last night. Short and sweet, that's the way I like my knitting sometimes. A little tension breaker is always good.

I love this colorway. It's Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Midnight Magic. I just love the name itself.

It's really nice to be back into my knitting. Now, what can I do next?

Another birthday

The boys turned 11 today. Man it just flys by doesn't it? They got cool presents and had a party.

Yesterday we all went to the circus. So we've all had a fun weekend.
