It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Now you will be singing that all day. Heehee!

So I got the new Harry Potter paperback. Did you have any doubt I would? I was almost as excited about this coming out as I was the hardback. I started reading it last night and have a little over 6 chapters read.

I received my adopted charts in the mail today. Thank you Carissa! I will take good care of them. They are in excellent condition. The Mystic Stitch one was still in it's plastic zipper bag. Just awesome.

And I also got my cross-stitch ornament book today. Now I just have to pick which ones I want to make and get to it.

Aww, and here's a pic of the cute stray kitty that has come to live in the yard. You can't get too near him, but he'll eat.

And last but not least, here is the progress on the cross-stitch project I have been working on.

Still humming that tune?

Harry Potter Alert

The paperback edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be out the 25th! Now I can complete my set! And of course I will have to read it again. Just cause.

I was out running around with the kids and saw this on a shirt.

Isn't that hillarious?

I also started a cross-stitch project yesterday. Just cause I am itching to work on my Christmas ornaments. My book hasn't got here yet, so I am making due. I will show some pictures when I get more progress.

And don't forget, if you go see X-Men 3, stay until after the credits. It will be well worth the wait.

Changing my mind

I have decided to make something else for Christmas. It's just so miserable and I am not able to spend as much time knitting as I want to. So I will only work on the stockings when the weather permits. This may mean that I won't give them until next year, but at least I will be able to enjoy making them.

I have decided to make some cross-stitch ornaments. I ordered the Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments 10th Anniversary Collection. It has 92 different ornaments to choose from with instructions for the backings as well.

I know I can cross-stitch in the heat. It's not bulky and the thread isn't heavy or hot while you work with it. Plus I really miss crafting, so this is better than doing nothing at all. I will knit now and again, but I just am not able to devote all my time to it now.

I also got lucky and was able to adopt some cross-stitch patterns. I am getting the Ghostly Treats by Stoney Creek and Spring (fairies) by Mystic Stitch. I love anything Halloweeny and the fairies are beautiful.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Bad, bad blogger

My posts seem few and far between lately. This summer has been very busy. This week alone we have had to get a new refridgerator, and the kids have started bible school. Today the people are delivering the new one. So most of my time today will be getting all the stuff out of the old one and be ready for the new one to arrive. Don't you just love time delivery windows? Any time between the two hours they give you. Fun, fun. And not to mention that the doors in this house are tiny, so it will be a very tight squeeze. And the time frame they give butts right up against the time I need to have them at VBS, so they may be late.

But not all of our busy time has been irritating. We went to see Over the Hedge. That's a funny movie! I like Bruce Willis and love all the crazy things he does. I'm a fan from way back when he was Moonlighting. And I own The Return of Bruno tape. But I think I liked Hudson Hawk the best. When he sings Swinging on a Star with Danny Aiello. That's hillarious.

The kids also got their pictures made in one of those little booths. My boys' says Little Devils, and the girls' says 90% Angel. Cute. Very funny faces were made.

And there has finally been some knitting. Not much, but some is better than none. I made a little more progress on my no-sew miter.

Doesn't look much different than before. I would have already had it done, but I found a mistake in the 3rd square and had to ribbit, ribbit.

But there are so few ends left to weave in, it's well worth it.

And I did start a sock. I wanted more progress before showing, but I might as well.

It is a really dreary day, so the lace parts don't show through well. Maybe I can catch a sunny day soon.

Well I gotta go try to get everything ready for delivery. Did I mention it was fun, fun, fun around here?

Happy 4th!

Man I feel really weird. I haven't even picked up a set of needles in I don't know how long. It's too hot for one and there's just too much going on around here. I have a few things that occupy all of my time now it seems. But I think about knitting, is that close enough?

The other day I went out by myself and watched The DaVinci Code. Great movie. Great book. I just love how Ian McKellen brings life to the characters he plays. There were a few differences from the book, but there always are. I can't wait till it comes out on DVD so I can watch it again. And to see what special features they add to it. If you haven't seen it, I recommend you do.

Well it's off to the in-laws for a cook-out and fireworks. Hope everyone has a Happy Fourth!
