Live from Africa

There are webcams everywhere. And now there is one coming to you live out of Africa. It is a 24 hour feed. It's set up by a watering hole. It pans around so you can see different parts. It zooms in on the animals from time to time. And it has sound.

It's a good way to waste time.

Knitting ADD

I seem to always have tons of stuff going at once. Most of these things are just laying around on the needles until I remember them and pick them up again. This isn't the case at the moment. I am currently working on 3 separate projects. At the same time. That's a new one for me.

Here is an example. There are other yarns there too. And catalogs, knitting magazines. Also my newest dishcloth KAL yarn and pattern, waiting patiently.



And this is my new knitting spot. Very good light in the day, although most of my knitting time comes later at night.



My three projects are as follows.

1. The besotted scarf. It has come pretty far. It's all the yummy cables that keep me going with it. Otherwise, it's a scarf and I don't usually finish really long ones.



2. The Solace stole. It's lace knitting in worsted weight yarn. So you get the lacy, but not the falling off with stitches so much. I am using Wool-Ease in Rose Heather. This one is a KAL. Which you all know, I just can't keep away from.

This is the first end. You work this end, then put it on waste yarn and start the other.



This is the second end with a start of the middle section.



3. Penrose. One of those mathematical designs from Assign Designs. Very lovely. It's all squares and parallelograms. This is just the first section. I'll show a updated pic when this section is done.



This is what it looks like finished. Depending on how you choose your colors, there are endless outcomes.



Ok that's about it for now. Back to my multi-tasking.

Here's a little proof that I too knit in public.



It's the cast on for the Solace stole. I was doing this waiting on my kids to get out of school. I am farther along than this, and will have pics up soon. It's another KAL by the way. I know, I know. I'll have the info on it then too.

And this is the sight when we pulled into the school parking lot this morning. Sorry it's a little blurry, it was raining at the time.







For those of you who don't know, it is the Flav-O-Rich cow. Very surprising to see the huge beast just standing there staring out at you. It's very realistically made. Down to every detail. Udder and all. Got milk?

Yeah well what else can you say after finishing a cloth like this?



I didn't know either. But it fit.

I also started a little something to do in between cloths. Just something to play with. It's the Besotted scarf from Hello Yarn.



It scanned really well. I'll have to remember that.


And here is a little something I will eventually start. Among the millions of other things I will make...eventually.

They had a good time and got loads of candy. Can you say sugar high? Try that times four. Fun fun!

I also finished another dishcloth. It's kinda tie-dye style.
